{"id":851,"date":"2012-09-26T21:29:21","date_gmt":"2012-09-26T19:29:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/she2.glokala.se\/?p=851"},"modified":"2012-09-26T21:51:29","modified_gmt":"2012-09-26T19:51:29","slug":"every-little-helps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/samhallsentreprenor.glokala.net\/she2\/2012\/09\/every-little-helps\/","title":{"rendered":"Every Little Helps"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Under sommaren spenderade jag en l\u00e4ngre tid i Kosovo, d\u00e4r jag arbetade bland annat med diskriminering av etniska grupper, hj\u00e4lparbete i en liten by utanf\u00f6r Pristina som lider utav m\u00e5nga problem se nedan.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00e5 den positiva sidan \u00e4r att det finns m\u00e5nga hj\u00e4lporganisationer som f\u00f6rs\u00f6ker f\u00f6r\u00e4ndra detta med olika och enkla medel som till exempel GAIA Kosovo.<\/p>\n<p>H\u00e4r nedan f\u00f6ljer en video som igenom rapp vill uppm\u00e4rksamma romernas situation i Kosovo sedan ett inl\u00e4gg som jag skrev i somras efter mitt f\u00f6rsta bes\u00f6k i byn Plementina.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"DOSTA! Meet your neighbor, meet the Roma!\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zcBbnbRHe80?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Plemetina is a small unknown (to the locals and the world) village only 12 km away from Pristina, Kosovo.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cIn Plemetina five different ethnic groups live together:\u00a0Albanians, Serbians, Roma, Askali and Egyptians. Of those, the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian comunities are the most discriminated groups in Kosovo. The Serbian enclave\u00a0<em>Plemetina<\/em>\u00a0village is nearly completly isolated, for example there is no public transport and even if there were one, people would not be able to move due to economical difficulties. The people of Plemetina are also affected by high levels of pollution due to the coal power plants Kosovo A and B, and C is one its way\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/caravan.no-more-war.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/DSCN0841.jpg\" rel=\"shadowbox[sbpost-545];player=img;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/caravan.no-more-war.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/DSCN0841-300x225.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Plemetina is without no doubt suffering from these problems. However, as we arrived to the little village, that image completely changed. We were welcomed with laughter, happiness, curiosity, and in some way I kind of forgot about all the difficulties the little community was facing and focused on the joy that was spread around us.<\/p>\n<p>We spent a few days in Plemetina. The first day, we meet with Gaia the local NGO which is connected to our host Balkan Sunflower. Our first task was a \u201cquestion game\u201d, the goal was to find out more about the community by walking around and talking to the locals.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/caravan.no-more-war.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/DSCN0837.jpg\" rel=\"shadowbox[sbpost-545];player=img;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/caravan.no-more-war.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/DSCN0837-300x225.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here is some of the information we learnt about the village.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0There is a train station, and every third month a train pass by, however it doesn\u2019t stop.<\/li>\n<li>There are five different groups co-existing in Plemetina: Sebian, Albanian, Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian.<\/li>\n<li>There are separate schools for Serbs and Albanians.<\/li>\n<li>70% of the people living in Plemetina\u2019s municipality Obiliq die of cancer, as a cause of the coal power plants.<\/li>\n<li>The area is more than 60% more polluted that what is allowed in the European union.<\/li>\n<li>Next to the village there is a mountain of dust, as a result of the coal power plants Kosovo A and B.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/caravan.no-more-war.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/P7270415.jpg\" rel=\"shadowbox[sbpost-545];player=img;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/caravan.no-more-war.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/P7270415-300x225.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the evening, Gaia had organised an open air cinema for us and the locals. We saw several short movies where we learnt more about the current situation in Plemetina. (Most of the movies that were shown to us during the open air cinema, are to be found\u00a0<a title=\"Gaia Kosovo\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/gaiakosovo?feature=results_main\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>, enjoy!)<\/p>\n<p>The second day we got the opportunity to spend some more times with the locals, as well as making a workshop for the volunteers at Gaia.
